This cottage rug has a special place in my heart. I don't know why and can't explain it. It just speaks to me.
Dulcy, I notice you're using one of the bent hooks. Do you like it and would you recommend it like Gene Shepherd does? I have hand problems and switch between 3 different Hartman hooks but wonder about the bent hooks.
Once again, thanks for the sweet comments. This rug is my version of our home, and it's been fun to do something so personal.
I am using this new hook on the rug, hoping to hook more "primitive" and not worry about even loops. Well, I love this hook because I hook faster with it. It's not just me, because Tammy noticed the same thing. It pulls up easier. I also switch hooks for hand issues. If you know someone who has one and you can test it out, that would probably be the best way to see if it's right for you. Also, do you have a blog? I clicked on your name and it indicated that you had one but I couldn't access it. Would love to see it if you do!
I wish someone had one I could try but I've never seen anyone at my hooking group with a bent hook. Faster, huh? That's a "good" thing!
As for a blog, nope, I haven't taken that step yet. I have some "issues" in my past that make me want to "fly under the radar," so to speak. But I did have to sign up with the Google/Blogger because otherwise, it wouldn't let me leave comments on those blogs that don't allow anonymous posts.
You said that this rug is your version of your home. I've always loved your opening picture. Is there any chance you could show more of your home? The outside, I mean. From what I can see, it's beautiful and very original.
Relyn, on the basis of your recommendation, now I want to see the entire house........inside, outside, every crook and cranny. From what I can see in the pictures posted, this house is beautiful and very unique. Wish I lived closer so I could see the real thing close up and personal.
And Dulcy, I hope you'll do a "Sunnie" on your cottage rug and post lots of in progress pictures.
My 2 fans! Actually, there is a sunny, but that part wasn't in the picture. JoJo, if you send my your email, I have several pictures I can send you. It's a nice old house.
Relyn, Sunnie Andress is a hooker on the Snippets board who also makes Santas in polymer and clay. She is just finishing up a huge rug called the Bradley Primitive and did a daily documentation of her progress on her blog. Not only is she a fantastic hooker but it was fascinating to watch.
Since I'm so in love with this cottage rug, I think it would be neat if Dulcy showed her 'in progress' pictures.

Dulcy,
I agree with Jojo. It would be great to see the corners of your home. Your rug is going to be so great - it already is!
By the way, Jojo, the inside of Ducly's home is also gorgeous and original. They have the most amazing garden, too.

OK, I'm not a hooker. What's a sunny?

Dulcy, my email is kittymomma@cox.net. Any pictures you'd like to send would be appreciated.....and drooled over.
Oops! I thought a sunny was the little sun I've put at the top of some of my rugs..lol
