Worms and Such

Time to begin a new project, but the cupboard is somewhat low on wool. Of course, I have scads and scads of worms (wool strips for all you non-hookers). I don't know about you, but I find it much easier to color-plan a piece when I can see the uncut wool. I do try and dive into my worms as best I can to avoid waste, and the expense of buying more wool....but I just LOVE taking peeks into a well stocked wool cabinet. The rainbow of brightly dyed wool is usually just what my mind's eye needs to inspire me to get started sketching something new! The age old questions for hookers, is "what to do with all the worm?" I've knitted them, and used them in many hooked pieces and other projects, but they continue to multiple faster than I can find homes for them. Any new ideas to creatively use up a bunch of worms quickly? They do take up a lot of space.

Dulcy Start hooking some cute little pillows and then stuffing them with worms. It makes the pillows really heavy and feels good! If you want to sell them don't put on the tag: Stuffed with Worms!! eeeeuuuuuuwwww.

Skinny proddy? Haven't every done this before, but I bet it would be a quick way to use up worms and make some sort of WILD little pillow.

OOh I like your ideas from Sheri and Tammy ~ can't top those... but I have often thought about a prodding binding ~ I go around the edge with colorful worms like on a pillow or small piece and give it a raggedy look!

Love and Blessings,
Katie

Thanks so much for taking care of my little ones!

Come over some time and I'll share some of my wool with you. You don't have to worry -- I may have silverfish but I have NO worms (not in my wool, anyway). Jan

How funny is that...who da thought...I love the little cupboard, what a perfect place for the wool. I just sold one to a gal that knits and guess what, she has it full of skeins...imagine that.

I love the gray hair thing, I'm lucky enough to still have some blond hair left threading through the grays, that is until I stand under fluorescent lights... then I glow...ha! Soon to be 60, so I'm not complaining at all, it's just the way of it...and I accept!

Dulcy ~ don't you have the cutest little wool cabinet ever??!! Good luck on the worm project, whatever that might be! I have a small basket of worms but I really cut wool as I go, so I don't end up with a lot left over!
