Slowing Down......

Christmas was Christmas.... always nice, but it's done and put away.  Jim and Violet in a moment of "cuteness".
We spent the holiday afternoon at what I consider our church..... our local Nature Center.  It has the most lovely wooded hiking trails.........
As for inside activites...........
The hedge apple rug slowly is progressing.............. and............
socks are coming together.  One down, and one to go.  I love this slowing down of time that post holiday winter brings......... sigh...........

Dulcy,
Such a sweet photo of Jim and Violet! Savor those moments of quiet as they are hard to come by in this world.
Love the border you're putting on Hedge Apple!! That teal is the cat's meow!
Speaking of.... are you using Violet's fur to knit those socks?!! There is an uncanny resemblance!! LOL!!
Create in Bliss!!

Hugs!

My kind of church too. We spent ours at my husband's childhood home (Bakewell in Derbyshire) and walked along the Monsal Trail with one of his oldest friends.

Love the sock, although there is an element of camoflage hat for your cat about the colours.

Happy New Year, may it bring much joy, warmth and crafting moments.

Dulcy, your socks are just so like Violet in color. Is this a coincidence?

I'm glad that all the Christmas shopping and preparations are over for another year. It's difficult when we have 15 people to buy for and try to get just the right gift. The slowing down is nice and needed...

I just saw that you are taking an online course and I think that it's fabulous idea. Have fun stretching your horizons. Happy New Year. JB

Can't have too many cute kitty photos...this one is precious......love the pictures from your nature hike and your rug is coming along so beautifully.....as well as the sock.....

I am like you; I like the slower pace at the beginning of the new year...time to reflect and do all the inside hobbies with feeling no guilt.......I am finishing a wrap for a friend and then on to socks.....I love them....

Oh Dulcy i love the socks that you are knitting, and i really love that yarn, may i ask what yarn it is you are using, as i am still so new to the whole sock knitting thing and any suggestions for differant yarns i would very much appreciate, so nice that someone else is knitting socks too....and your rug too is coming on a treat, so looking forward to seeing the end result.

Also..Thank you Dulcy for your very encouraging comments, you always leave such nice words on my blog and for that i thank you muchly...i have been having one of those moments of not being really sure about carrying on with my blog..you know, wondering why i do it and also wondering if anybody really is that interested...but after reading your comments you made me feel a whole lot better and got me back out of my duldrams and back to a more positive outlook...happy knitting Pixie xxx

LOVE the photo (with your new camera...yipee!) of Jim. Gorgeous.....both of them!
I love the church referance....so perfect...yes those trees are so calming and beautiful. I seems like it could be your second home.
Bob and I sat on the sofa and went thru all my dulcy treats..... the catalogs ...the fabrics...and he especially enjoyed Ann's work.
Your outlook on life is so reconfirming and fresh.
Love you,
J
