Repurpose & Reuse!

I spent the afternoon quite contentedly, because I'm newly retired and am able to actually stop, breath, and enjoy the season, wrapping Christmas gifts.  I enjoyed digging in my clothes currently not wearing, wool storage, paper crafting, and odds and ends closet looking for interesting, yet repurposed or recycled items to wrap with (wow.....that's quite the run-on sentence!).  My favorite finds are a wallpaper sample book, a roll of brown paper used to wrap boxes for mailing, brown bags used to carry apples in from the grocery store (those are really cute for gifting), rug hooking linen scraps, wool worms (you hookers know the value of those...), twine, and reused ribbon.  I've managed to wrap everything so far without the use of traditional Christmas paper or Christmas bags.  Maybe it's not "Christmasy" enough for everyone, but I love the beauty in simplicity!

That takes more way more thinking and creativity than getting out the tradtional Christmas paper!! Good for you!!!

I almost always use brown paper for my packages -- "brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things". Also, it's great for starting fires in the fireplace & you're not suppose to burn the colored paper. I love to repurpose & reuse. Jan

Isn't it fun to see what our imaginations can come up with? I love that idea and who wouldn't want to receive a little bit of something fun to perhaps reuse in a different way! Thanks for this Dulcy! Cathy G

Love your idea's, makes good sense.
I stuck a small candy container on top of a glass candle stick and have an elegant candy dish. So much fun.

Wanted to follow you so I could revisit but I don't see a follow button.

I just love your laundry basket full of goodies. Wallpaper books and brown wrapping paper sound like wonderful ways to repurpose for gift wrap. Your new bag, the fire and cozy kitties, all look like a great way to spend an afternoon!

The presents are all gorgeous! What's the brilliant blue present in the foreground of the last picture wrapped in? I really love that one.
