Succulents, Lily Pads, and Gazing Balls!

This morning hubby and I dropped by the very newest of our farmer's markets.  It was convenient since we were on our way to walk the Nature Center trail that is close by.  I've been to lots of farmer's markets around here and other places, but this one is just the best ever!  I didn't take pictures because it was to be a quick drop by for some Mother's Day bouquets.  But...... I was stopped in my tracks by the most wonderful little booth.  The lady had all these succulents and sedums in the most clever containers.  Lots of little vintage wire baskets and such.  But I was taken with this sweet little birdie house with the moss covered roof.

See the cute tiny pot of hen n' chicks sitting on the doorstep?  Darling!   Here's a shot of the roof plantings.

So earthy and precious!

I grabbed a quick photo of our pond this afternoon.  Notice froggy lounging on the lily pad..... so serene.

I've spent the past couple of weeks doing some substituting at my old school, working in the flowers, lunches catching up with old friends, and a bit of swimming at the Y.  But, I have gotten in some hooking time.  I've been working on this gazing ball pattern by Primitive Spirit.

I love gazing balls, and have three nestled here and there.  I've admired this pattern for some time.  I thought it would be a pillow, but am now leaning towards a tote.  I enjoyed hooking the gazing ball in the center.  I tried to show light and some green reflecting off the glass from the overhead trees.  I'm moving a little slow on this.  My goal is to keep the coming week free of too much "out and about" so maybe I'll make better progress.

Happy Mother's Day To You!

I typed a comment and it vanished. I'm not sure if it was sent but here I go again just in case.

It's been that kind of a day today...

That little bird house is just too cleaver. I've never seen one with moss garden on the roof before. and the Hen and Chicken in the tiny pot is cute too.

I love your lilly pond and those blossoms are so gorgeous. I think that the frog must be admiring them..

Your gazing ball rug is just lovely and I wonder what colors you will chose for the rest. I'm sure that it will be fantastic when all finished.

Thanks for the Mother's Day greeting. I'm not sure if you are a mom but I know that you are a step mom and that close enough for me. Happy Mother's Day to you too.

Have a great weekend. Hugs, JB

Happy mothers day, yours is much later than the UK one. Hope you have a lovely day and are as serene as the frog in your pond. Quite fancy being a frog lazing on a lily pad just now.

Your hooking just gets better and better, what an eye for colour.

I haven't had a chance to head out to the new farmer's market yet, the one on Battlefield is just SO CLOSE for me :) Loving the gazing ball, yes, I could definitely see it as a tote!

I love hens & chicks. What a neat idea for a birdhouse. We've had a few frogs in our pool lately. Of course we get them out and save them. Great gazing ball!
